I was sure 5 years ago that

but look at Art Basel this week

there will be reversals

it is a minor step in the road

my pattern recognition is 100% at ease, ASI, crypto, NFTs, how weird the world gets in the 2030s

I am 100% sure of everything

yes but I am here to tell you that it is all going to happen

lots of side quests to keep from dying along the way

"Odysseus trying to get to Ithaka" - beyond the actual project at hand, dozens of unrelated monsters along the way

and hilarity ensues

and then I come to my colleagues family and so on and am like "yeah we need to do this thing now" and they are like wtf would we need this thing now and I am like but well for ASI cyberdefence obviously

because I spend all day living there

and it leads to all types of perpetually amusing/bemusing outcomes

my body is in the present, but my brain (pun intended) is living 10 years in the future

it is the same pattern over and over in my life

and it is far enough away that it is not too late

but it is close enough that if you start doing things now, there is a plausible pathway to get ready

it is far enough that it looks crazy most of the time

but my sweet spot is exactly ten years

while I can think about 3 years and 30 years and whatever

I know exactly what level futurist I am in practical terms: Exactly 10 years in the future

10 years ago

and I pulled out the slides and literally 9 of the 10 things on the slides were done, exactly as I said they would be

and the slides were like: "OK the world looks like this right now" "and the world at some point in the indeterminate future is going to look like that" and given the above "we need to do these 10 things each of which individually look more or less absurd and in aggregate are grounds for psychiatric medication"

when I first broached the topic with my Board of Directors

and then I went back to read my slides from 2016

one last thing and I will stop with the public therapy session - I am very very proud of what I did, it was very very very hard, pretty much every extremely experienced and qualified person told me it was impossible and I willed it over the finish line through simple force of will or whatever appropriate cliche fits here

my base gear is now faster

it is like doing exercise

you also don't come back to the prior level

and I can't run at that gear forever

and though that was a bit of an overclocking gear

but I did learn something about myself that even though I am a quite good CEO at a decent size scale, who does a lot of things very quickly, I did discover there is one more gear available to me that was previously never used

and so no new realizations about the world view per se

and I am trying to put the pieces together
