yes this is correct. you could manage your safety pretty easily by avoiding certain areas
imo nyc used to work with neighborhoods safe neighborhoods bad ones now it become all messed up, you can have one street like this one like that some streets only turn bad at night, but seeing deranged people are all over, just mid day they get crushed and unseen by the amount of foot traffic going on.
Then you have the younger people they just don’t care they just move in anywhere even bad neighborhood just to get a small deal
