this is complicated to implement well - needs deeper thinking i think - feeling my way on this, watching etc

Yes I'm aware. Just sharing it for the discussion.
Also an interesting point, @[punk6529] - Would a feature to edit card be helpful if you're not in top 3? I think most artists don't want to start over to garner the votes.
using the power of ASI, in our network state we will use "garbage bins"
NYers will be awed by this display of technological force

who is going to govern the rats?
like education or religion or nationalism is a form of utility
and sure that is a form of utility but highly abstract
in principle, but of course I cannot do this, you have to do this, this model can extend until we are in a decentralized manner not only picking the pieces in the gallery but running the gallery and then the coffeeshop next to it and then the whole block and in the end all NYC
so people including most of all the high TDH people want to keep coming to the gallery
current job is to make sure TDH picks the pieces well
this is the first SZN TDH is doing something different than a gallery -> it is picking the pieces in the gallery
if you look at TDH until this SZN, it fits perfectly in trad-art model. "you get higher on the allowlist" and yes real galleries do that too - they call their top collectors when a new piece comes in before they call their small collectors which is very normal
it approximately never works
is really basically ultra cringe stuff that the promoters are theoretically going to do in order to drive the value up
the base understanding of "utility" to most people
in the specific NFT world we live in
but is not the same thing
which is true ofc
sure but this is stretching the definition of utility. eventually you get to "giving money to charity is utility because you feel good"

I think with decentralized curation people have had some taste of power in terms of having a say and influencing decisions
If influencing decisions in network is a utility - Maybe people are looking at TDH different
However the top 100 Holders have been here since TDH wasn't even a thing
he wants to have intergenerational infrastructure that people can build on "the infinite garden"
it is 100% what his goal is
and if you read all Vitalik's stuff
but it is true the same thing applies for ETH
without this there is nothing else in crypto
all the early crypto exchanges

Have things really been built on BTC though? I feel like BTC is more of a store of value. ETH feels like it has had the most built on it
which I think is what we are talking about with the passport card and I do not know for sure because I still don't understand on the concept
is "buy something from me and you will get an extra goodie"
what most web3 / NFT people mean by utility
could permissionlessly build things on BTC with strong security assurances
but the way it become useful in the future is because thousands of people who are not satoshi nakamoto
if you bought BTC in 2010 because you thought it would be useful in the future, sure you are buying it for utility
so i think we are using utility in both valid and different ways
it is like BTC in spirit, not like moonbirds in spirit
I think it is a very important distinction
and then network is the high TDH people
these down the road concepts only emerge if the network does something

You don't think people are collecting TDH for utilization down the line, like 2030?
it is worse - TDH makes you a steward of something important and you need to make good decisions and help this important thing live
as I have said many times, the utility of the memes is that I am going to lecture you to do more for decentralization

Nope
TDH is a byproduct and it's fun to use it is where I'm at
if by utility we mean "they can participate in the most interesting experiment in crypto" then i agree that is why they are here
if by utility we mean they are going to get a boat party, free socks, etc, then no

I feel like most of the long term holders are here for the future utility of TDH
the art stands by itself
i had to (and continue to) believe that if the experiment part dies
the art has to stand alone
in any case, the answer to this question is the same answer to the memes to date
what have I ever given high TDH holders except the opportunity to do more work?

Is TDH not about future utility?
in the context of the memes, I actually have no problem with people gamifying their card (Hakatao did) so long as the card is good
imagine thinking: "if you buy this Picasso, you get a pair of fucking socks"
and the JPG rapidly collapses to the value of the utility (which of course in this case is effectively none)

and instead of your $50,000 JPG being worth $50,010 because now you get a watered down well vodka soda, your $50,000 JPG suddenly, voluntarily, has told you "an important part about this JPG is that you get a crappy $10 drink at a crappy club"

did I pay $50,000 to get a $10 drink ticket to a club that I would never voluntarily go to?
wait
and suddenly you start thinking
and then they sent you socks and drink tickets to Webster Hall (for those who don't know, it is a starter club in NYC you go with your fake ID at 18 because no serious club will let you in)
moonbirds were worth astronomical amounts of money
let's take the classic example
