and it seems reasonable that they end up on NextGen as opposed to some random contract
punk6529 Memes-Chat #36889 2025-03-15 10:18
in any case, I will feel much more comfortable once they are on-chain and not subject to Elon's whims
punk6529 Memes-Chat #36888 2025-03-15 10:18
given they are priced out of "Life is short"
punk6529 Memes-Chat #36887 2025-03-15 10:18
and a smaller but non-zero number of people would still want to own "on taxis"
punk6529 Memes-Chat #36886 2025-03-15 10:17
or "freedom to transact"
punk6529 Memes-Chat #36885 2025-03-15 10:17
a lot of people would want to own "life is short"
punk6529 Memes-Chat #36884 2025-03-15 10:17
i think it will work as a collection
punk6529 Memes-Chat #36883 2025-03-15 10:17
and that seems like a really dumb way to waste $xxx, xxx
punk6529 Memes-Chat #36882 2025-03-15 10:16
because right now we can do it for x,xxx dollars I think and with 100 gwei gas it is $xxx, xxx I think
punk6529 Memes-Chat #36881 2025-03-15 10:16
but it has been a mild stressor on my mind for the last year +
punk6529 Memes-Chat #36880 2025-03-15 10:16
it is not the most important thing we need to do
punk6529 Memes-Chat #36879 2025-03-15 10:16
so I think what might make sense is something like this: - once we know we are done with twitter first (blockchain running live and new posts are by default decentralized) - then combination - NextGen collection - Book (physical) - Book PDF (free) - And we wrap up the centralized era of the tweet storms neatly and smoothly, get them into the permanent record of Ethereum and be done - Of course then I get stressed because it is a lot of data and at 100 gwei gas it is unaffordable but at 0.5 gwei gas it is free ninety nine - So I dunno maybe it is a good idea to mint them now and keep the collection open to add the additional ones
punk6529 Memes-Chat #36878 2025-03-15 10:13
not "oh, also here are 20 more"
punk6529 Memes-Chat #36877 2025-03-15 10:13
because I want to know I have a natural ending point
punk6529 Memes-Chat #36876 2025-03-15 10:12
i have harassed @[MintFace] twice to make them into book form (we have them that way) but never proceeded
punk6529 Memes-Chat #36875 2025-03-15 10:12
new ones are natively decentralized to begin with
punk6529 Memes-Chat #36874 2025-03-15 10:12
and then from then on after that is done
punk6529 Memes-Chat #36873 2025-03-15 10:12
2021-2025 or something
punk6529 Memes-Chat #36872 2025-03-15 10:12
so the collection can be "The Tweetstorms"
punk6529 Memes-Chat #36871 2025-03-15 10:11
like something something something something "when the first place the new threads go is on our decentralized chain"
punk6529 Memes-Chat #36870 2025-03-15 10:11
my difficulty in this is figuring out when to make the cutoff
punk6529 Memes-Chat #36869 2025-03-15 10:11
i think that is more sensible than each tweet as a token bc it is going to get out of hand that way
punk6529 Memes-Chat #36868 2025-03-15 10:10
maybe each thread as a token, some type of visual display of them and the actual text written on chain
punk6529 Memes-Chat #36867 2025-03-15 10:09
obviously "twitter" is not the place for them to permanently be
punk6529 Memes-Chat #36866 2025-03-15 10:09
it would be a good opportunity to make them permanent
punk6529 Memes-Chat #36865 2025-03-15 10:09
gas is super cheap right now
punk6529 Memes-Chat Reply #36864 2025-03-15 10:08
yes, I think maybe as a nextgen so they can be composable?
Context from Giopetto #36845 2025-03-15 09:37
Threads are gold, they belong on chain
punk6529 Memes-Chat Reply #36842 2025-03-15 09:32
the really funny part is someone in a year after it is all live goes back and reads all of the 140+ threads, it is all there conceptually ex the implementation details

people who buy less crypto but can hodl it for a long time without getting rekt, do better than people who buy more and risk getting wiped or being forced sellers
punk6529 Memes-Chat #36833 2025-03-15 09:26

1 used Chevy Volt is not fungible with another used Chevy Volt
punk6529 Memes-Chat Reply #36830 2025-03-15 09:24
1 amazon share is effectively like 1 amazon share
Context from Tharwin #36829 2025-03-15 09:23
The division into fungible and non-fungible is quite quasi, it depends on the point of view. Shares are not interchangeable, when I look at them in general 1 MSFT share is not like one AMZN share, but when I look directly at MSFT shares, they are fungible. It's all about hiearchy, which is why I really like the idea that NFTs are a superset of fungible tokens from a certain perspective. Of course it doesn't apply 100%, you can't replace BTC mechanics for example, but it's a very interesting perspective.
punk6529 Memes-Chat #36819 2025-03-15 08:58
like if you think about all the mental structures / constructs in the world, a few (money, stocks, etc) are fungible and everything else is non-fungible
punk6529 Memes-Chat #36818 2025-03-15 08:58
something like that
punk6529 Memes-Chat Reply #36817 2025-03-15 08:57
very broadly that the way we organize the world with non-fungible concepts?
Context from hexum #36815 2025-03-15 08:00
What were your insights here that made you realize? Maybe you already kinda answered with how fungible tokens are susceptible to centralization

bc anyone's BTC is as good as anyone's elses BTC
punk6529 Memes-Chat #36808 2025-03-15 07:56
and the fungible coins are all suspectible to this
punk6529 Memes-Chat #36806 2025-03-15 07:55
but I dunno it is not great for decentralization
punk6529 Memes-Chat #36805 2025-03-15 07:55
