I am not sure how this is relevant to the narrow question. the narrow question is this: i give 100 proxy rep to @[maybe] 1/ he can give +50 to @[simo] and + 50 to @[GelatoGenesis]. this is ok, we all agree 2/ he can give +50 to @[simo] and -50 to @[GelatoGenesis]. this is also OK, we all agree 3/ he accidentally gives +50 to @[simo] and then takes out -50 to @[simo] to to reverse his mistake. what we are discussion if in scenario #3 if he has used 100 proxy rep or 0 proxy rep. I think the case that this is 0 is reasonable and more intuitive

@[maybe] @[punk6529] About the "REP X Proxy X Credit Boundaries thing". Now I remembered the original reasoning behind it. And the more I'm thinking how to change it the more I understand how the original reasoning made sense. So let me write it out here: 1. You ARE giving someone a proxy grant to REP on your behalf with 1000 units of REP. 2. You are NOT giving someone 1000 units of TDH to use as REP as they please. Those are two very different things and currently @maybe is assuming (2) not (1). The proxy feature was never meant as a way to give away yourleftover REP to someone so they could use it instead. It was meant to give someone limited privileges to log in as you and act on your behalf. And the credit system was put to place so the grantee wouldn't step out of line and ruin everything you've build by giving out REP. If we would change it to "here is X units of REP I wont use anyway, so you use it" then it would be a very different thing. More like xTDH or smth. And then it would not act as a guardrail for proxy privileges.

guys, right now the model is: - 100 people bombard the devs with 100 ideas, sometimes contradicting and mostly "devs do something" - for some substep of ideas, primarily communication oriented, fight it out among yourselves and propose a common text - the first task is "login page for wallet" - new text - Is it going to be hard to corral everyone's ideas - it sure is - Will everyone agree on direction - nope - do any of these things change if @[simo] has to integrate all your ideas? also no

I don't think they will give website access, It's just a place to discuss ideas I think as a collective and then if it's worth it then it will move to the devs?

This is more for ideas to improve UI, Add text to make it easier for newcomers etc. So that people can hash out ideas before going to the developers to not put more "load" on them than needed

these are all good ideas and we should flag and hold them. But we should focus IMHO on simpler things first. we already have a hyper complex system. what is not needed right IMHO is even more bespoke voting incentives. what is needed is: 1/ more participation 2/ #1 comes primarily from better communication (e.g. the website stuff we discussed last night) and imho the key KPI from this quarter (of showing that this is not all a system just to pick pepes) but to show how it can spread to network state scale because there are only so many things we can do at the same time, my suggestion is we focus on the things in #2 to drive #1
Context from Zoku #622796 2026-02-07 19:21
Not sure if this is the right place, but will give a try here. Following yesterday’s discussion in the bar, I wanted to open a few questions, not as solutions, but as ideas to try to keep and eye on. If concentrated voting power is our new old gatekeeper that tends to compress taste and reward coordination over discovery, maybe the challenge is to rethink what we incentivize in curation. – What if we reward curators who surface works before they receive strong consensus, rather than those who vote once outcomes feel “safe”. – What if we introduce a time-based or discovery-based multipliers that decay as attention concentrates. – What if we measure curatorial impact retroactively: did this vote help bring a genuinely new signal into the system? Probably very hard tho since this is a soft ground area. None of this is about punishing capital or influence (those forces will always exist). I'm simply raising these questions to try to find better ideas and, perhaps from there, we can design our technology to incentivize a counterweight to plutocratic dynamics.

we should 'fix' this - maybe we don't calculate TDH during the mint itself? it is confusing for it to change
Context from prxt0 #630842 2026-02-09 08:39
i see what you mean so what happened is: - 06/02 00:01 TDH calculation took place - at this point your card had TDH Rate 23.6 - this is because the edition size at the time (before the airdrops to research.6529.eth) was 167 so 3941 (hodl index) / 167 = 23.6 -- causing your tdh to overshoot for the day - later on 06/02 the airdrop to research.6529 was done to complete the drop to edition size 310 - then 07/02 00:01 new TDH calculation - at this point your card had tdh 12.71 (3941/310) - so basically there was a brief overestimation of your TDH (and therefore tdh rate) on 06/02 which rebalanced when the edition size was finalized
