It would still be limited by the 24-hour time frame, but if @[ack] drops a Meme card, and it sells 5k, why not? Or more importantly, if someone wants to fund scientific research through a Meme card, doesn't having it capped limit the effectiveness of the Meme card as a funding source?

hmm, i take a look tomorrow, but just for case, isnt it that you "spend" it? rep proxy should be "credit" what you can spend. so if he gives you 100 credit, you do +50 and -50 you are out of credit and he needs to credit you more. fwiw I agree I think it absolutely made sense as a variation on the Art Blocks model and to encourage artists who were curated into the project to stick around and drop other work AND it was a huge reach amplification for those artists who wanted to use it ... but now it is complicating the contract model

Totally understandable ser. MemeLab was something special and will always have its own place, there are some truly amazing cards and a lot of personal favorites in there. Just to confirm, all the works that were already minted will continue to live on in the same contract, right?

I support it. Any simplification that does not remove key functionality and simplifies the system is, in my opinion, a good thing in our case. In this case, I think it is clear that it did not bring us anything significant and only complicated the system.

Also, all of this affects interest in Meme Lab. Most people just scroll past it. Maybe if it were packaged in a more appropriate way—matching the complexity and overall feel—so it aligned more with the core collection’s value, it could have been a turning point. But yeah, in its current state, it clearly doesn’t catch the eye or create a strong desire to add, support, or engage with it.

There aren't many places in crypto art that have community voted drops and not many with the same momentum and continued interest. Just saying this because some of the closest comparisons often have a closed selection process where the criteria is either unclear or what's actually clear is they only pick artists that are popular on twitter, have the biggest sales stats etc. I've been in discords where that's all the collectors want too, they are just asking curators when will they get the next big artist to drop. I do feel this place is unique how many artists have been getting their work selected (through voting) and the drops are so well received. It's something to applaud. Many have failed to have the same reach.
