Context from Zigmarillion #1227111 2026-07-21 23:27
Sure in many ways. Yet the nation still got to accept the sub rules of the university. Otherwise they will try to shut it down. As we seen proof of very recently. Same goes for a network state. It can operate within the confides a nation state allows. But as mentioned in a longer time horizon no one knows what rules, society, who makes decisions or even how the world looks so then its insignificant thing all togeather

I agree. I was more refering to if we talk about it as a place where te members of the network state can decide everything about there state. And with a close time horizon its only a small part that is possible without nation states getting involved or even wanting to break it up if they see it at all interfere with the nations interests. If we comes to a world where nation states have no power its a different thing

exactly, this is literally his thesis: I think Balaji is crossing up network state with low immigration requirement startup incubator to montise dark (latent third world locked) talent.

its hardly a network state if we have to live in a single physical state to be part of it. Would be like all Christians having to live in the Vatican . The physical land part is a distraction to me. I think Balaji is crossing up network state with low immigration requirement startup incubator to montise dark (latent third world locked) talent.

Context from Zigmarillion #1227063 2026-07-21 23:19
Sure but if you want to make a "real state" and decide the rules of it you till got to follow the rules of the state you are physically in so there are always big limitations to the state . A lot can be decideed and done in the digital world. But still huge limitations. But yeah we are soon nearing a A.I takover by likely one or a couple companies/enteties until maybe A.I takes over completely so then all will change no matter what so kind of doesn't matter what the nation states do

I mean I hope I don't insult anyone here (I am Christian) but even the literal son of god, said "eh, better pay the tax man"
punk6529 maybe's dive bar #1227061 2026-07-21 23:18
The phrase is Jesus’ **“Render unto Caesar”** teaching: > “Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.” It appears in Matthew 22, Mark 12, and Luke 20. ### The situation Religious and political opponents were trying to trap Jesus with the question: **“Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar?”** At the time, Judea was under Roman rule. The tax was deeply unpopular. * Saying **“yes”** could make Jesus look like a collaborator with the Roman occupiers. * Saying **“no”** could expose him as a rebel against Rome. Jesus asked to see the Roman coin used for the tax. He asked whose image and inscription were on it. They answered: **Caesar’s.** He then gave the famous reply. ### What it means At the simplest level: * You may have legitimate obligations to civil government: taxes, laws, public duties. * But government does not own your conscience, soul, worship, or ultimate loyalty. Those belong to God. The answer therefore both **recognizes political authority and limits it**. Jesus is not saying, “Whatever Caesar demands, give it to him.” He is distinguishing between Caesar’s legitimate sphere and God’s much greater claim. ### The deeper wordplay The coin bears **Caesar’s image**, so it can be returned to Caesar. But human beings, according to Genesis, bear **God’s image**. So the person—the whole moral and spiritual self—belongs to God. That creates a subtle contrast: * Caesar may claim the coin. * God claims the human being. ### Was Jesus supporting separation of church and state? Not exactly in the modern constitutional sense. The statement has influenced ideas about separate religious and governmental spheres, but Jesus was not presenting a detailed political theory. His immediate achievement was to escape a dishonest trap while making a profound point: **Political authority is real, but it is not absolute.** Christians can obey government where appropriate, while refusing to treat the state, ruler, nation, or political ideology as sacred. So the core lesson is: **Fulfil legitimate earthly duties—but never give earthly power the loyalty that belongs only to God.**

This is the tricky part. How do you get to a point where a network state can operate independently. Even if you solve the doing, voting and money without outsiders being able to monitor it. How do you buy stuff irl since then the rules of other nation states will apply and they wont let that go
