i have an easy win idea for this but I am not going to share it publicy yet
sure possibly
The only successful story here is hafftka
But I think of this from a perspective where I go to art fairs today (85% of them still have no clue about NFTs, they are still selling 1/1s at 5k and have a loyal collectors)
Over a very long term horizon if every artist is onchain in some capacity and we hold genesis of quite a few of them. I think it's a net positive.
so we don't know what would happen if they tried
the issue is that we have yet to see a traditional artist actually willing to put in any time on this area
"oh look, we also own a Richard Avedon or whatever"
not in principle opposed, though mostly as a bridge to something familiar to "non-NFT world" and discussing with them
maybe dunno, all this stuff has been a big failure so far even though i bought some photography of this type
4/ We bring trad artists onchain and buy their genesis and put that in network museum
2 and 3 are not even particularly curational. i personally think we should own a naka primarly because I think it will be cool to say we own a naka
we are going to set up the wave to vote on it but my suggestion to start is:
1/ most of the curational work is on primary
2/ we should own some pepes given our heritage
3/ we should be open to major generative collections
I agree that beyond that we are not mature enough to do anything and the above is more than enough to work on. neither of #1, #2, #3 will impact any bags
Not there (fresh new art), but buying on secondary market is different
does anything actually think that spending 0.5 eth on a 1/1 is going to move the market for anything?
there is bag bias in keys and gates? what would it possibly be?
I think "curated museum" is objectively a good experiment, but do you think we are capable of choosing what to buy? Isn't there a risk of "bag bias" from big TDH accounts? Whose opinions should we base our decisions on?
Maybe starting with small funds on cheap collections could be a solution. We could see what we've collected after 6 months and whether the collection has an identity.
Maybe by taking funds, idk, 5% from the card mints (divided between the artist and the team).
this is important
@[david] i really liek the long term incentives idea for subscribing.. this way people can come in an subscribe for 1 yr and know they will get all the cards being P0
fill in [any other blockchain]
does not work for me
but the idea that I must hold Monad or I can't sleep at night
on i dunno Monad
i mean sure would be cool to make money
everything else I am indifferent
it is weird but of all crypto the only things that i feel uncomfortable NOT owning are BTC and good NFTs
though i dunno this probably says something about its money-ness
don't ask me, I can't hold on to eTH, it magically turns into NFTs

So thoughts on this (you can comment later)

David Hoffman says -
As for ETH the asset, I have a harder time seeing ETH being structurally rerated in any direction - up or down.
So the reason I sold my ETH is not because I am bearish ETH, but rather that I think the ‘ETH is Money’ thesis has played out, and I’d like to allocate my capital to other opportunities I see in the market.
the big things are IMHO
1/ provide that decentralized decision-making is relevant to anything which is why I want to push the museum case, it is a very straightforward and obvious one; I have done it twice before for museum and fund, I know the processes, I know what is easy and hard and it is easily to explain
but I am coming back to land, etc. I want to show we can do things because the #1 question is "why do we need decentralized decision making" and to me it is totally obvious but obviously I have to show not tell
2/ decentralize and launch the blockchain for th ewell known reasons
anyway we have to solve the big things
he has it fairly close
i'm still looking forward to 6529er gen collection
20K or FUD ;)
When eth hit 4 k me😁
at some point we discussed doing nextgen which can support bigger amounts but it adds a somehow random extra step which is "make a large generative collection"
on the other hand, meme cards are a super way to fund one step at a time as they provide a natural break point
I think @[RegularDad] proposed a different method for funding large initiatives and separating them from meme cards
ETH goes up, you feel rich, you say "well, I am a man of culture, perhaps I should convert some of my gains from my insightful investing into cultural markets" -> there is probably an effect like this
:-)
it is weird because the amount of ETH around stays the same right? so it is psychological effects, wealth effects
do you remember a long time ago you mentioned a thing where during a bear your poor friends and rich friends were all out of eth/money in their own way
i don't love the "make lots of cards to fund a bigger project" concept. i know it is our current thought (or my current thought) but it is a bit of a hack I think. I would to discuss ideas; e.g. if we want to raise 50 ETH for "whatever" can we do it 1-shot
this is what i want to see @[HugoFaz] do so we can properly fund the IRL gallery and not have him sweating bear markets to keep it rolling! and especially with close to all time low mint counts (trying my best to mask that) it will likely still be a few more card to get there
@[gpebbles] you got a good deal on the ACK - I saw the bidding when you were in the top, thought "it is going to finish late for me and it will go high so I am going to bed" and then I woke up in the morning and was like "oooh...the list is exactly the same:

@[punk6529] what are the first few tasks you have planned once your agent coordination system is ready? Did you see the system Paradigm built around organization shared coordination. We use something similar as well
the saylor stuff bothers me. i do not want to say if it is good or bad, but aesthetically (business aesthetically) it bothers me
Though always been a bit worried about BTC and what Saylor is doing. And when Tom LEE started mimicking it with ETH and constant hype. I wasnt a fan
fixed. it was an errant tweet that got boosted to the home page and crashed it
just shared with @[simo]
and then got 404-ed out on the home page
just minted 10
great card today
sounds great

Like that
Needs to be above threshold on average for 24 hours
So someone does not pre organize and push it through in 1 minute
Threshold but at least 24 hours
I guess do threshold for now but can there be a minimum time period
Many decisions over time
@[punk6529] we want to have 1 approved think per this new wave or multiple?
don't have an obvious solution to that
how we can sneaky-sneaky make decisions
and so we need a solution for that as well
there could be another piece where this is not true
